Since 2009, Western Autistic School has had the privilege of welcoming world leaders in the field of autism to speak at our International Guest Speaker Series: Emeritus Professor Rita Jordan, Emeritus Professor Gary Mesibov, Professor Bruce Tonge, Professor Connie Kasari, Dr. Haris Karnezi, Brenda Smith-Myles PhD, Dr Barry Coughlan, Kelly Whalon PhD, Hilde De Clercq, Peter Vermeulen and Charlene Tait.\u00a0 We also privileged by our ongoing collaboration with our own national leaders in the field who deliver foundation lectures in the Autism Teaching Institute training courses namely, Dr Deb Marks, Dr Mark Stokes, Dr Janine Manjiviona, Dr Nicole Rinehart, Dr Vicki Bitsika, Margaret Coady, Hilarie Kohn, Fiona Whelan, Gloria Staios, Christine Kendall, Shadia Ibrahim, and Jeanette Purkis.<\/p>\n
These professionals are experts in their various disciplines and\/or lived experience of being autistic. We are fortunate to learn from them to remain abreast of the latest developments and thinking about autism.<\/p>\n
